Privacy Policy

Panic Meter is built to feel personal and private. The app is designed to analyze short voice or text input locally on your device to generate a simple 0–10 panic score and (for Pro) optional descriptive context.

Quick summary

  • We do not store your voice recordings or text entries.
  • We do not upload your entries for analysis.
  • We do not sell personal data.
  • Subscriptions are handled by Apple (we do not receive your payment details).

1) Information you provide

Panic Meter allows you to enter text manually or record short voice input. If you use voice input, iOS speech recognition may be used to convert speech to text on your device so the app can generate an output score.

Important: Panic Meter is intended as a reflective tool. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations.

2) Information we do not collect

Panic Meter does not collect:

  • Account data (no sign-ups required)
  • Names, email addresses, phone numbers, or contact lists
  • Location data
  • Advertising identifiers
  • Health records or medical information
  • Analytics or tracking for advertising

3) How processing works

The app is designed to analyze your input locally on your device to generate: a panic score (0–10) and, for Pro users, optional descriptive context such as mood labels or short notes.

We do not operate servers that receive your entries for analysis. Your text and speech-derived text are not transmitted to us as part of normal app use.

4) Permissions

  • Microphone: required only if you choose voice input.
  • Speech recognition: may be required for converting speech to text.

You can manage permissions at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security.

5) Subscriptions

If you purchase a Pro subscription, billing is processed by Apple. We do not receive your credit card details or payment information. Apple may provide us with non-identifying subscription status information (for example, whether Pro is active) so the app can unlock features.

  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled in your Apple ID settings.
  • You can manage or cancel in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
  • If Pro does not unlock after reinstalling, use Restore Purchases in the app.

6) Terms of Use

Panic Meter uses Apple’s standard Terms of Use (EULA): https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/

7) Your choices

  • Use text only: you can use Panic Meter without microphone access.
  • Manage permissions: revoke microphone/speech permissions anytime in iOS Settings.
  • Cancel subscription: manage in Apple’s subscription settings.

8) Children’s privacy

Panic Meter is not designed to collect personal information from children. The app does not require accounts and does not request personal identifiers.

9) Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top indicates when changes were made.
